Antes de Million Dollar Baby, Clint Eastwood realizou Mystic River. E é desse filme que vos vou falar.
Temos 3 homens, antigos amigos na infância, separados pela circunstâncias da vida: Jimmy (Sean Penn), dono de um mini-mercado, ex-presidiário com 3 filhas; Sean (Kevin Bacon), detective, separado da mulher e da filha recém-nascida, sofre com os telefonemas silenciosos que a cônjuge lhe faz; e Dave, o mais “esquisito” dos três, traumatizado pelo rapto e violações de que foi alvo aos 11 anos. A vida destes homens cruza-se devido a um acontecimento trágico: o homicídio da filha mais velha de Jimmy, Katie, que Sean investiga e em que Dave é o principal suspeito.
Baseado no livro com o mesmo nome de Dennis Lehane, Mystic River poderia até ser um filme não-tão-bom, se não fosse a qualidade do elenco. Kevin Bacon, Laura Linney, Laurence Fishburn, Tom Guiry, Marcia Gay Harden (perfeita!) e os oscarizados Sean Penn e Tim Robbins, dão substância a um argumento um pouco fraco e debilitado. A realização também não é nenhum prodígio mas consegue transportar-nos para aquela escuridão constante em que vivem os protagonistas.
Mystic River é um filme mediano que nos faz chegar à conclusão que “Pensar antes de agir” é uma máxima bastante verdadeira.

O pior: O argumento fraco.

A criatividade de Hollywood anda muito em baixo...

Seguindo o mais recente hábito de fazer remakes e sequelas, Steven Soderbergh diz-nos agora que deseja fazer a terceira parte do filme de Danny Ocean (sendo Ocean's Eleven um remake).

Apesar da história não ter sido divulgada, a Variety afirma que o argumento já foi entregue à Warner Bros.

Porém, a surpresa não é muita pois tem a mesma imagem que a primeira foto lançada. Uma coloração mais amarelada, umas letras e alguns efeitos e voilá, temos um poster!

The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford fala-nos do homicídio de Jesse James (que surpresa!), líder de gangs do velho oeste. O culpado foi "o cobarde" Robert Ford (este título é tão misterioso...), que o matou pelas costas, só para receber uma choruda recompensa.
